Excellent value, great compression, and sharp looks

I've always been a fan of Assos bibshorts and have been riding them for years. They're comfortable and wear well, but they ARE expensive. The LG rep dropped off a pair of these to try and I'm really glad he did. The one's he left for me had the white panels and stitching and at first I thought they were a bit much - I generally go for all black shorts. But I've really grown to like the look. They compliment several of my favorite jerseys very well.

But what has really impressed me is how great these feel while riding - particularly on a long ride. The compression fabric feels great on my quads, the chamois works as it should, and the braces are comfortable enough that I don't really notice them.

What's really telling is that on my last few century rides, I've pulled these out of the drawer instead of my Assos bibs which sell for more than twice as much. I don't know if these will last as long, but after 30 or so washings, I find them an excellent value.

Best bib shorts I've ever owned!

I've had the highest-end Assos, Pearl Izumi, Giordana, Castelli, and about a dozen other brands of bib shorts over the years, and these are bar-none the best I've ever had for comfort on long rides of 3 hours. I just ordered another pair so I can alternate them daily to keep from having to do laundry so often.

I may even go ahead and get another couple of pair so I don't have to worry about them not being available in the future. -

I don't know how long they'll last, but so far they show no signs of wear at all. I launder them after every ride gentle cycle in a front-loading washer, and almost always hang them to dry.

Best bib shorts I've ridden

I know what you're thinking there's no way a bib short at this price point can be any good. I was thinking the same thing. But I found myself in Portland and so went to the warehouse store. I was having trouble with the fit of other, high end bibs like Craft Pro and DiMarchi Contour Evo. I literally looked and touched every bib biketiresdirect.com carries that I thought I could get past my wife--Capo, Assos, ProCorsa, more expensive Garneau's. I tried on the ones that looked super-well made with a great chamois for long miles on the road. I kept coming back to this one. Linda at BTD swore this was the sleeper short--super high quality but at a price that can't be beat. So I went with it over the Assos Assos FI. Uno S5 and have to say that she was spot on. I can ride this short for as long as my legs will go, and it remains super-comfortable. It has just the right amount of compression to stay where it should. It's so well designed it doesn't have and doesn't neeed silicone leg grippers. And it is about 60% of the price of what I almost got.

My only complaint so far with about a month of riding on them is that the seam stitching is pulling out in a few places. I'm not sure if it is my short or a general LG issue, but so far it hasn't been a big deal, and the shorts have a warranty that should be in place when I can make this call.

I am about 6'2" and 170 pounds and the large is a perfect fit.

Great Value

Without being long winded

-great compression shorts at a good price

-more than a year of use and they still look great

-wide elastic portion on on bottom holds up better than any other short out there

-12 panel build a major look around, you won't find many

-excellent pad with no chafing, still looks new

By far - without a doubt best bib I have ever worn and prob in this price range

Bought these from LBS for $20 more than here. Tried them on at home and could completely feel the difference in quality material, chamois and elasticity from my other shorts and bibs. The question next would be how they were when I rode luckily I had a planned ride the same night. Thats when I really felt they were well worth the money, never felt the chamois and barely felt the saddle for the first 25miles! I will deff get another pair as soon as need to replace one of my other pairs.

very comfortable but poor quality

Like the other review I loved the fit and compression, but after about 20 uses the inner part of chamois has separated and they are no longer usable. I took great care of them washing on delicate cyclehang drying and am surprised at the poor quality. Going to email Louis Garneau and see if they will help me out.

poor quality.Not worth the money.

Great innitial impression.Liked the fit and compression, but after six weeks of use the inner part of chamois has separated and keeps folding on itself. During the ride I have to stop & reach inside to stretch the creases that are forming inside. If you see the guy seemingly playing with himself during the ride on the lake front bike path in CHicago -wave, its me in my new L.Garneau neo bibs. What a crap. The worst bibs I ever owned. Don't buy it.

Garneau stands by their products

To follow up on my previous review, I contacted Louis Garneau about the failure of these bibs and even though they were a little older than the warranty period they were replaced. I am very pleased with the customer service and happy to have another pair as they are very comfortable. The back and shoulder straps on these bibs are very comfortable and don't irritate or itch like some of my other bib shorts.

rode the Seattle to Portland, No butt butter and no sorness.

Bought these a week before riding the STP - 204 miles - and had zero butt sorness. I have never given my 2 cents on any of the riding clothing or equipment I purchase, but I always read the reviews. The reviews for these were good, but I am here to tell you, if you are into riding long rides get these. They are crazy inexpensive compared to those other companies that will charge more, but I am here to tell you they are much better. I am 6' 1 210lbs and got the XL and fit like a dream.

VERY nice bib shorts

These are my first set of nice bib shorts. I looked at a bunch of other brands that cost 2X, and picked these after seeing the good reviews. I've now ridden on these for two centuries and many 50-75 mile rides, and love these bibs. They fit well and provide a nice amount of support.

I love these bibs,

I love these bibs. Great for long rides, very comfortable and wear them on my long rides. I am 6'-0, 190 lbs and bought x-large. The sizing chart says I would wear a large but it seems to me most cycling clothing seems to run alittle small. I like them so much I just bought another pair. For the money you can't go wrong.

I USED to love them!

Well, like I said... I used to love them. I got a black pair last year and they were great, so great that I bought two more pairs, (red, white), this spring. This is when things went to crap.

The white pair, got a hole at the chamois stitching, about the size of a quarter. and the red pairs logo's started coming off after the third wear. LG was great about replacing the white ones under warranty as long as I shipped them the damaged ones back. They basically said too bad about the logos coming off. The red ones have now been used about two dozen times and the chamois stitching is coming undone! I finally got the white replacements and the logos made it a whopping two wears before they came off.

Bottom line... They are comfortable, and offer great compression. The quality is CRAP! I haven't found a more comfortable and effective bib for this price, but its no deal when I have to replace them after a month's riding.

My favorite bibs

Awesome shorts. The compression fit is wonderful and I especially like the extra leg length even though it results in more tan lines.

Powerband is very nice

This is my first pair of bib shorts. I was looking for compression and these have it. My PI Elite In-R-Cool shorts leg bands loosen up after 50 miles into a ride, these don't. 80 miles is the longest ride I have done with these. They feel just as comfortable at 80 miles as when I started the ride. The straps felt too short at first but seem to have stretched and now seem fine.

I would give these a 55 but the material on the bottom of the shorts appears to be wearing quickly. I have a stock CAAD 9 and have put 2K miles on my PI In-R-Cool shorts and they look brand new. Hopefully these hold up.

Outstanding value

I have a 33-34 waist and bought the med. When I tried them on they seemed to small and I started to send them back. But I hate going thru the hassel so I decided to keep them. Boy,am I glade I did. After the first couple of miles the compression material of the bibs just seem to melt away except for the Power Band which felt GREAT. The pading is high quality and the right size. These are by far my fav's. The only "top end" bibs I own are PI's Elite,so these seem like the best ever.
