The size chart gives waist measurements for guidance but to help clarify

Please note that different brands of cycling apparel can run differently. I wear a small in some brands and a large in others.

Size runs large in the waist and too small in the rear

Ordered these for comfort bike rider wife who wears a size 1416 in women's shorts. Her complaint is that the non-stretch fabric in the backside is cut way too tight making everything else twist and bunch up when riding. A large 34 tight set in another brand fit her just fine.
