Assos FI.Mille S5 Bib Short

I purchased these bibs looking for a good, long distance bib. I do a lot of century rides and a poor set of bibs gets uncomfortable in a hurry. I used some of the big name bibs in the past and found that I was adjusting myself many times during a ride. I have not found that to be the case with these at all. The fit is great, especially when riding. Assos advertises that their products are designed for body on a bike. That is definitely the case. They are comfortable plus.

I have only ridden in these for a month so I can not attest to their longevity as of yet, but so far I have not noticed any loose threads or frayed seams that I have seen with other brands.

The only drawback is the price. That is why I gave them a 4 star value rating.

This was my second bib purchase after I had some cheap pearl izumi bib for about 6 months. The difference was day and night. This bib has been used and washed for over a year and is still tight and did not lose color use a delicates laundry bag. I just use tide and not the stuff it came with. Don't hesitate to buy this, as a new rider last year it made a big difference.

Well Assos stuff is very expensive but they are worth every penny (or gold ingot) you pay. I've been riding for half a century and when I laid out the extra money for these pants it was money well spent. Also, if you get these pants in the long length they hold leg warmers firm and they don't slip

I have two pair and one is use for training and te other one is for race day.I love the way the bib feels on my back and the pad is the best one out there.

I have had a pair for three years. Fit like the proverbial glove. I tend to take long rides (all conditions), and these always perform well. Prior to the bibs, I wore shorts - but I am not going back to shorts. The padding is excellent (and very durable). I own a pair Assos FI.13 S5 bib shorts also, believe Assos and the catalogs when they say the Assos FI.Mille S5 Bib Short are for long distances and the Assos FI.13 S5 are for short distances. The 'suspenders' are wide and very comfortable, as is the mesh back.

After hundreds of hours of wear and many washings, mine are showing some minor wear. After the Assos-supplied detergent ran out, I started using Woolite in a cold wash. I always put the bib shorts in the mesh wash bag. Yes the shorts are pricey (and rarely seem to be on sale), but it is money well spent.
